To be successful in this role you will have:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in administration/customer service roles and rostering experience ideally in a medical or aged care organisation (desirable if you have experience with Payglobal & Emprevo)
• Demonstrate customer service competencies, ideally in face to face contexts
• Demonstrate highly developed time management skills including the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Qualification in Business Administration or similar would be beneficial
• MS Office proficiency, excellent typing and word processing skills

DOMESTIC CLEANING ASSISTANTS - Support our clients living in their own homes who need help with basic cleaning duties, cooking and conversation.

About the Role

We are seeking experienced Domestic Cleaning Assistants to support our elderly clients living independently in their own homes. 

Due to an increase in client demand, Jewish Care Victoria needs a strong network of Domestic Assistants who can speak English, Russian, Polish, Hebrew or Yiddish to travel to our client homes using your own car (paid $0.80 cents per kilometre between clients) and we will provide secure employment with access to flexible shifts from 8am to 6pm Monday to Sunday.

Duties and responsibilities include:

• General household duties such as making the bed, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning the bathroom and kitchen
• Loading the washing machine, hanging clothes or ironing
• Assisting with meal preparation
• Supporting clients to maintain independent living skills 
• Monitor the physical, social and emotional well-being of the client and report issues
• Develop an effective, positive and respectful working relationship with clients respecting cultural values and beliefs

To be successful in this role:

Essential: 

• Experience in domestic or commercial Cleaning ideally in an aged care setting
• Victorian drivers licence & reliable vehicle (preferred)
• Available to work min 20 hours per week (Monday to Sunday)
• Covid-19 Vaccinations (2 doses) or medical exemption

Desirable:

• First Aid & CPR Certificate 
• Technology experience using Smartphone to pick up shifts and roster

We now have an opportunity for a friendly, motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our busy Reception team located within the Hannah & Daryl Cohen Family Building based in Melbourne.

In this role you will be instrumental in ensuring all the reception and administration functions are managed efficiently and effectively every Friday.

This is a fixed term casual contract, working 1 day per week during business hours every Friday starting from the 3 May 2024 until 31 May 2023 (1 Month).

The key objective of the position is to provide strong customer service, both in person and via the telephone. More specifically, you will be responsible for the following tasks:

• Answering and redirecting phone calls
• Greeting residents and their families
• Signing in all staff and visitors to the facility
• Inbox management, handling general enquiries
• Data entry and providing general administration support to the office
• General housekeeping of the reception area and Covid testing station during shift changes
• Ordering consumables and stationery
• Accepting mail and distributing to the appropriate department
• Monitoring cameras and calls via the security systems to direct deliveries and visitors

What you'll need to succeed
You must have a warm and friendly phone manner, with computer literacy skills to operate a switchboard, and proficient in using Microsoft Office packages. You will show loyalty and a high level of confidentiality, you are patient and kind when dealing with resident and visitor requests and show initiative to assist where you can. You have outstanding verbal and written communication skills. You will be the face of our residential home and you will demonstrate our values in all your interactions.

Desirable

• Understanding of the Jewish culture and community, or willingness to develop understanding.
• Bilingual (Hebrew, Russian, Yiddish) would be advantageous
